Wine Extract (a special Chinese wine extract) not only decreases the liver's production of cholesterol by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase but also balances the body's level of unsaturated fatty acids. Clinical studies demonstrated that patients with high cholesterol levels, who were given 0.6-2.4g of Wine Extract per day continuously for 8 weeks, experienced a decrease in cholesterol levels by 11.2-32.8% on average. No liver or other systemic side effects were reported.
